I tried to do handstands for you

(That iPod commercial with that song was just on.)

So, week one of my new job has ended. It's going well so far. I mean I'm not in love with my job or anything, but I'm definitely in love with having benefits for the first time ever. I have to go to AT LEAST 4 doctors. (Regular doctor, ~girly~ doctor, eye doctor, and teef doctor. LOL.) So now I can do this without breaking my bank! Anyway the job is kind of overwhelming because we learned A LOT of information this week and we have to apply every single bit of that information every day to these GIANT files with like 214907234 things in them. It's kind of scary but at least it will keep us busy, unlike my previous job where we sat around a lot and wondered why they were paying us $12/hr to sit on our butts.

The apartment that I mentioned in my last post is not available anymore :( But hopefully something else will open up with that floor plan since I can't move until at least February anyway. We'll see!

Also, I am going home for Christmas! Yay!!!! :)

Lastly, Boston Market has squash casserole again. The last time I went to a Boston Market that had squash casserole was in July of 2003! You should have seen me at Boston Market..... Actually, maybe you shouldn't have ;)

ABCDEFOMG

I am officially done with the temp job! We spent the entire week alphabetizing the files from 2008. Why couldn't the 2008 enrollment temps have done it themselves? (We are the 2009 enrollment temps.) And I thought Friday was going to be the longest day ever, but it flew by. I'm glad my last day was a good one!

I looked at an apartment today that I kinda fell in love with. Yay!

I am a NaBloPoMo 2008 winner!

This post seals the deal! Whew! I will definitely not be posting every day for quite a while, it was hard enough to do so for a month!

I am actually kind of mad because it turns out I got home last night anyway so I totally could have posted without borrowing someone else's computer, but what can ya do. Actually, there was even a guy at the campsite whose computer received wireless signal, but I decided not to bother him and plus he left early.

Camping was fun, we were in the middle of a swampy area down a ridiculously long dirt road, and admittedly I did not like the site that much but I was with great people and that is the important thing.

I hope you all had a great Thanksgiving weekend and a successful run at Nablo for those of you who attempted. :)

VICTORY!!!!!

I am at someone's house! Score! I win! I do not lose! NABLO WINNAR 2008 BABY!!!!!

Camping has been fun so far... the site was in the swamp lol and also down the longest dirt road EVAR. I am glad I chose to go Friday night and not this morning because now we are no longer at the campsite.

That's all for now, don't wanna impose on other people's internets for too long!

OMG YAY I WIN!!!!!!! WOOOOO! (Well, I win tomorrow, but you get the idea. :D)

Blogger sucks

I am trying to set up Blogger Mobile and it is NOT WORKING. Halp?

OK, I started this post at work. I SERIOUSLY CANNOT GET BLOGGER MOBILE TO FUNCTION so screw it. I'll either write on paper and backdate it, or send a link to an LJ voice post. Ugh, this is so retarded.

Well, I'm going camping now. Bye!

P.S. Thanksgiving was good, and they liked my cookies :D

Operation: Baking = success!

I am SO proud of myself, it's not even funny. I don't bake often, so every time I do I fear burning down my apartment =P Also, I took a recipe and substituted a couple of things so it would be vegan, so I didn't know how that would turn out. (I am not vegan, and I'm sure many of the people I'm eating with today are not either, but one girl who might be going is, plus the family I'm going with is into health and such.) Fortunately, my substitutes worked out. I used Earth Balance instead of butter, and applesauce instead of an egg. Also I used a tablespoon of Simply Apple juice for an egg white, lol. Here is the recipe: Whole Wheat Snickerdoodles II. A couple things that I did different were that I also added a pinch of baking powder, I flattened the "walnut-sized balls" into 1/2" thickness before baking, and I found that 10 minutes was the magic number.

So now that I've yammered on about these cookies for a bit, I suppose you want some. TOO BAD! But I will frustrate you even more by posting a picture of one:

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone! :D

Longest day ever!

Work was so stupid. Yeah, we finally got in a good amount of work, but we were done by 3:45 and just sat around until 5. It was so dumb. Meanwhile, the real employees got to go home early... we are clearly at the bottom of the totem pole, and they remind us every chance they get :(

I am going camping this weekend and I am trying to set up the blogger mobile thing on my phone but it is being a tard and not working. So I guess I will just have to keep trying. It took me like 20 minutes to figure out how to even send an MMS message from my phone, and I haven't gotten the token claim thing back yet. If worse comes to worse, I'll write something on paper on Saturday and post it backdated when I come home. But I may also not even be leaving here until Saturday, in which case I'll just post that morning. I are confused!

I will try to remember to post tomorrow morning before I leave for my Thanksgiving dinner, since I'll be gone all day. Preview of coming attractions: I attempt to bake! Will I succeed? Stay tuned...

La la la.

I got my official offer letter from New Job today! I just have to fax some dumb thing in and then all done! Yayyy. I'll do it at the UPS store or something. (That would be funny if I faxed something to New Job from Current Job, haha.)

Current Job continues to be boring as heck. If I open one more claim (which is not our job), I think I will go crazy!!!!

Spaced

Just in case you wanted to know... season 1 of Spaced is WAY better than season 2. =P But I still had fun last night.

That's all, haha.

Sunday, November 23, 2008

Boring weekend.

I have absolutely nothing to post about! I'm not at work. Nothing's going on in sports. No exciting musical discoveries today. The election's over. Pop culture is lame. And I said I wouldn't get personal. So what the heck is left?

I guess I'll post about how I'm going to watch season 2 of a show called Spaced tonight. It's British which means there's lots of smoking, drinking, and swearing... and it's hilarious. You should watch it! (It's on Surfthechannel.com, if you're into the whole illegality thing =P)

Saturday, November 22, 2008

You would break your neck just to keep your chin up.

That is a lyric from a Copeland song. The show last night was really good! I also liked the opening bands. I missed Lights, but Copeland had her sing with them on a song.

Man, I am excited about my new job! It starts on December 8 and I get BENEFITS!!!!

Can you tell that Nablo is getting to be a chore for me? Only 8 more days!

Friday, November 21, 2008

Good news, everyone!

(Apparently I'm professor Farnsworth now, lol.)

Guess what? I GOT THE JOB!!!!! :D :D :D :D

That is all I deem necessary for posting today. Oh and tonight is the Copeland show. Yay!!!!

Checking in.

Posty posty post.

Me and my coworker were so bored, that we drew pictures with highlighters for like 45 minutes. I had made a happy birthday sign for my friend whose birthday is today, and so she decided to make this big elaborate sign (as elaborate as you can be w/highlighters and a Sharpie, lol) for her boyfriend who is flying into town. I am glad I have someone there who is close to my age and will color with me.

That makes no sense.

I forgot to mention this, but we are doing our data entry jobs on laptops. Um, what? First off, it is clearly more difficult to type on a laptop keyboard than on a desktop keyboard. Second, the laptop keyboards do not have the 10-key pad (unless you hit the "function" key but who wants to do that???). Fortunately they also gave us USB keyboards and mice so we can do this stuff normally. Whew!

By the way if anyone knows where I can find the Chloraseptic allergy shield that I keep seeing commercials for, please let me know. I could not find it at Publix or CVS.

NO WAY

You are not going to believe this... we actually did our JOB today! You know, the actual task we were hired to do... amazing. But there were only a few applications, and only 4 people have their computers hooked up anyway, but still we actually did our job! It was awesome, lol.

Also I ate at Five Guys today! You should eat there if there is one near you :) Nom nom nom!

Monday, November 17, 2008

Work was boring.

They finally hooked up our computers, but we still haven't done any data entry! *Facepalm*!!!!!!

Also, I am going to a show this weekend. Yay!

Sunday, November 16, 2008

It's a miracle!

As I'm sure you know, Sunday is the popular day of the week to do laundry. Generally there is a lack of available machines for those of us who do not have their own washer/dryer.

ALL FOUR WASHERS WERE AVAILABLE!!!!! I AM USING THEM ALL RIGHT NOW.

Clearly this is a sign from God that I was meant to do laundry today :D

Saturday, November 15, 2008

Things I need to do that I am not doing

I need to go to Target. I need to clean my apartment. I need to do copious amounts of laundry. I need to eat. I need to drink (not ~drink~ lol). I need to get dressed.

Instead I am sitting on my booty wasting time on the internet and making this pointless post so that I do not fail Nablo. =P

LOL

So is anyone else surprised by Barry Melrose being fired? Hahahaha. I laughed when they hired him and I am laughing even more that he got fired. Duuuuuurrrrr.

Also, the interview went really well! They are hiring 9 people so that makes me feel better that I might be one of them. (Though I do not know how many people applied.) She said "good" a lot so hopefully that's... well, good. LOL.

Oh, and my coworker was back at work today! :)

Just some updates

First off, my coworker is out of the hospital. Apparently my other coworkers got to talk to her this morning and she is at home resting. I don't know what the actual problem was though... we just figured if she wanted us to know then she would have just said so, lol. So at least she is home getting some much needed rest. That woman spreads herself so thin, I don't know how she does everything that she does!

Also, my interview is tomorrow for the other job. I am so excited!

Wednesday, November 12, 2008

Eep!

My coworker is in the hospital! She was having a really really bad day today. She was nauseous and had a headache and her stomach area REALLY hurt and finally at like 4:45 they called an ambulance after she ran out of the room we were working in. So please pray or whatever your equivalent is for her to be ok. She has a bunch of health problems as it is so I hope this isn't related to those and it's just something that will be ok.

Also, my interview for Potential Awesome New Job is officially scheduled for Friday. Wahoo! :D

Howdy

So today I got a papercut at work that would NOT STOP BLEEDING. It was weird. Actually it was more of a cardboardcut than a papercut but whatever, it hurt for a split second and then didn't hurt anymore but kept bleeding. I know you wanted to read all about that. Can you tell I'm running out of material?

Also I need to sleep more.

Monday, November 10, 2008

Blah blah work blah

Work has been kinda strange while it's still in the beginning stages. A lot of confusion and "we want you to do this for us but WE'RE NOT READY YET so sit on your butt and look stupid until we figure out what's going on!" and general pointlessness. We should be up to speed soon.

Also, I have not yet gotten the email I was supposed to get about awesome potential new job. I will bust some heads tomorrow.

Sunday, November 09, 2008

What should I post about?

Seriously. I have no idea. Does this post even count if this is all I write? Meh.

Faceholes

...is my new favorite word. You'd have had to be there last night.

So I guess since my little info box says where I live, I can just NAME the road I was talking about in my last post. More on that in a sec.

The show was AMAAAAAZING. The traffic sucked just as much as I expected. However, I was expecting I-4 to be the killer but it turned out to be 275. It took me an hour to get from my apartment to I-4 (about 14 miles). For those who are not familiar with the area, 275 is the interstate that goes between Tampa and St. Petersburg, and there is a big bridge that goes over the bay. Well, the big bridge gets backed up at rush hour, as I lived out yesterday. It was no fun, but once I hit I-4 it was smooth sailing. Except I was driving, so smooth driving. =P

I met up w/some friends and we were right in the front which was awesome. Great view! I missed the first opening band, who apparently sucked so I'm not too upset that I missed them. The next band, There For Tomorrow, was really really good and I'm going to download all their music now. LOL. Also the singer and the drummer are really hot. (I got a hug from the drummer! Yaaaay.) The band after that was Straylight Run, who was really good at the beginning of their career but omg, they suck SO MUCH NOW. I think the lead singer was drunk. He looked like he was a drunken hobo who hadn't showered in like 12 years. Blechh. And he sounded like crap. At least they performed their one big hit and did it fairly well. Everyone basically booed them, lol.

SO ANBERLIN. OMG. They were amaaaaaaaaaazing. Stephen Christian needs to marry me like right now. He is a great singer, an AMAZING lyricist, and he is really really sexy. WHAT MORE CAN I ASK FOR IN A MAN? But anyway, omg. So amazing. I can't even describe how great it was. There are a couple songs they didn't do that I wish they had (such as ANYTHING from their first album lol) but the ones they did make up for that. AEVBGFJKBGFKLBGEWG SO GOOD. I'm going to stop attempting to describe this now because it's probably just going to consist of EBJKTJWBGRG type nonsense.

It was so much fun and totally worth the traffic and getting lost a few times and not being able to take pictures. Oh also worth the crappy day I had at work too, lol.

SPEAKING of work, I have another job prospect for a permanent job so for those of you who are the praying type... please pray for me regarding this. (And if you're not the praying type, then whatever your equivalent of that is.)

Friday, November 07, 2008

Good morning!

Yeah, I really wanted my Nablo posts to be more substantial, but this one probably not so much.

As I said, I am going to see Anberlin tonight! Yay! I am actually not that excited though because the venue is not my favorite. This is because I am kinda obsessed with taking pictures at concerts, but this venue? NO PICTURES. Fail. On the upside, I get to see my favorite band and one of my good friends who I don't see very often, so that is good! Oh another down side though... the interstate. I am leaving straight from work which gets out at 5pm. That's bad enough, plus it's Friday, but the interstate I have to take? SO TOTALLY THE WORST ROAD EVER!!!!!

I guess this did have a little bit of substance after all. =P

I gotta figure out what to do on the camping trip... I'll have to sign up for that Blogger To Go thing since I won't be near the internet for an entire weekend :( LOL

Anyway, that's my post for today. Off to work now!

P.S. I just realized that after November ends I will probably forget to stop labeling "nablopomo 2008" on my posts hahaha.

New jaerb started today!

(Bonus points if you get the reference, stupid though it may be.)

My new job started today! It was boring at first because they didn't really have a lot for us to do so we just kind of talked amongst ourselves for a bit. But then they had us do some busy work. My task for the day was to open envelopes, separate papers into certain groups, stamp them that they were received, and batch them up. VERY exciting, I know.

Oh and I went to Subway and got a FIVE DOLLAR FOOT LONG. I left the other half in the fridge so tomorrow I can eat the rest of it. Oh wow, what if they clean out the fridges at the end of the day? Crap!!! I didn't think of that! D: I WANT MY SAMMICH! D: :D D: lol

Tomorrow night I am going to see Anberlin in Orlando. That means I'll have to blog when I get up tomorrow! Wow, I just realized that! SHOOT. Stupid NaBloPoMo =P

Wow, there are about a million ants crawling by my printer. I never knew ink was so sugary... ????

Wednesday, November 05, 2008

Yay, the election is over!

I don't really have anything to say about it. I mean, my candidate won. Um, yay? I'm not here to gloat.

Also, my job is back to starting tomorrow. Boo!

Oh, also we passed Amendment 2. I wish I could be surprised about that, but I live in Florida. Was there any doubt? Oh well, I tried. I am really surprised about CA though. That really sucks.

I got free chicken, ice cream, and pizza yesterday because I voted. Nom nom nom! :D

Tuesday, November 04, 2008

Everybody have fun today, everybody please vote today!

(Sing that to the tune of "Wang Chung" lol.)

I am really glad that they delayed the vote on building a new stadium for the Rays, because the place I'm going to be working is RIGHT NEXT TO the place where they'd be building it. I don't know when they would have started the construction, but if it was any time soon then AHHHH!!! (I would have voted no anyway, of course, and I think after this season anyone with a brain would vote no too. There is NOTHING WRONG with the Trop!)

Please, I don't care what party you are or who you are voting for, remember to vote today. And then go to Ben and Jerry's/Starbucks/Chick Fil A/Krispy Kreme and get free food afterwards! =P

Monday, November 03, 2008

I'm bipartisan. I'll hug your elephant if you kiss my ass.

That is what a bumper sticker I saw today said. I thought it was funny.

The job I just got, it was supposed to start on Thursday. However, it is now going to start on Wednesday. Sa-weet! I took the drug test for it today. There was a creepy old man in the waiting room with me and was asking me what my sign was (both zodiac and Chinese) and telling me all this stuff that was supposed to describe me. Apparently Virgos are good with their hands. I'm sorry but I do NOT want a creepy old man trying to tell me I'm "good with my hands". Maybe I am a gutter brain, but that is NOT cool. He also said that Boars are leaders and teachers and a bunch of other nonsense that couldn't describe me less if it tried. *Shudder* Glad I never have to see him again!

I'm so excited that my job starts a day earlier now, because that really divides my week up a lot better. Less time to sit around and be bored and wish it could be Thursday night already! :)

Sunday, November 02, 2008

We all need this reminder.

"The God I believe in never worked on a campaign trail." - Brand New

I'm voting no on amendment 2. I've come to realize that anyone who wants to know why is just out to convince me I'm wrong, so I'm not telling you why. Deal with it!

Saturday, November 01, 2008

Aaaaand... go!!!!

NaBloPoMo 2008 COMMENCE!

Right now I am listening to the very first album by Dispatch, "Silent Steeples." I do not like it. However, "Bang Bang" is amazing and always will be. My cousin got me into them back when I was in high school. Did you guys know Dispatch used to be called "One Fell Swoop"? I like that name better, but apparently so did another band who had that name first, thus the change. LOL. Can you tell I have nothing to write about?

Wow, this song mentions badgers.

So in the unlikely event that anyone is reading this blog, don't expect me to talk too much about anything personal. I think "I got a job" will probably be the most personal thing I discuss in here in terms of stuff going on in my own life.

I hope the next 29 posts will be A LOT better than this. =P

Friday, October 31, 2008

Gearing up for the start.

So starting tomorrow I have to do this every day for a month. It's enough of a challenge on its own, and that's why I chose this over NaNoWriMo. I am crazy, but not crazy enough to write a novel in a month :-P

Also, the Rays lost the World Series. (Did so in the end of the aforementioned Game 5.) Honestly, I really can't be upset about it because looking at how they played in the first few games, and looking how Philly played in all 5 games, Philly really deserved it. It was like Tampa was all, "Oh crap, we're gonna be eliminated in like 3 innings, maybe we should start playing well now!" Fail. Congrats, Philly.

Oh also, I got a job. Yay!

Wednesday, October 29, 2008

Are you serious?

Read this.

Then read the fine print. For those who do not feel like getting out their magnifying glasses, let me spell it out for you:

"The Christian Coalition is a pro-family, citizen action organization. This voter guide is provided for educational purposes only and is not to be construed as an endorsement of any candidate or party."

I got two words for ya, fine print: YEAH RIGHT.

I don't care who you, the readers, are voting for or why you're voting for them. However, this voter guide can go jump off a cliff. The issues portayed on this guide were clearly picked on an agenda. I'm not saying that all Christians are these staunchly republican propagandists (is that even a word? it is now), but these particular ones make it pretty freakin' obvious. Nothing is mentioned about the war (banning gays from the military does NOT count as mentioning the war), the entire story about taxes, laws regarding the actual allowance of getting an abortion in the first place, gay marriage (that would have just been TOO obvious, now wouldn't it), and about a million other things that I can't think of because I don't know as much about politics as this post would have had you think until just now.

Two things... one I probably should mention anyway, and one that probably does not matter a whole lot:

1. I am a Christian.
2. I am voting for Obama.

So I'm sure the writers of this ever so informative Voter Guide would probably like to throw me off the top of a very tall building if they ever read this. Or pray for me until I get ~saved~ from voting Democrat. But don't even lie about not construing an endorsement when you clearly chose all the obvious Christian-right issues that are supported by the Republican candidate to "educate" voters about who to choose on November 4th.

I don't agree with everything McCain supports, and I don't agree with everything Obama supports. But I can vote for whoever I think is going to do a better job by doing my own non-biased research on each candidate.

My name is Tray Dawg and I approve this message!

Baseball ranting.

We are not even going to talk about game 4.

I am actually really upset at how game 5 turned out. Yes, I would love to see the Rays win the World Series, and this way they have that much more of a chance. But I am very much the "what if, what if, what if" person. The scenario is really not fair to anyone. Would they still be picking the game back up if the Rays hadn't scored that extra run? Would the Rays have even gotten that extra run if it wasn't raining? Would Cole Hamels have thrown to first so many times if it wasn't raining? (I know nobody wants B.J. Upton to steal a base, but come on... you KNOW Hamels only threw to first that many times to delay things and make the field worse so the game would be called.)

And to think, I don't even like baseball! =P

Sunday, October 26, 2008

I have another blog.

Hi everyone! I made another blog for 2 reasons.

1)A lot of people I know are on blogspot/blogger/whatever and I want to stalk keep up with them
2)I want to participate in NaBloPoMo so I'll do it here.

I'm sure I'll post here beyond that, I just didn't want to submit any of the blogs I already have.
